You know, it took years of marriage to truly appreciate our individual contributions to the Chatterjee-Woolman family unit.

John, for example, is a Nurturer. He finds it fulfilling to care for people he loves. To raise them up. A slow, laid-back yet hardworking life; a signature quiet strength.

Me? I am a Hunter. I love the chase of a goal, a full-on life, & big parties! I like using the word pursuit in relation to the word happiness

John & I

The recognition of our personality types took mere moments of being with each other. What took time was learning how to build our family unit to celebrate what fulfils each of us.

Normalising the man as the gentle nurturing influence and the woman as the hunter is not contrary to gender identity. Merely against all stereotypes. We have found incredible peace and contentment in understanding who is best suited to which role, appreciate our unique contributions, and cherish the Chatterjee-Woolman household we have created together. A thriving family unit requires us both.

Own how you are built, my wonderful people! The world will catch up one day.
